Dig Dog Training is Alex Matsoukas (she/they).
Alex is a dog trainer and behaviour consultant who focuses on you, your animal, and your circumstances, creating a plan that will empower you and your pup.
Alex dived into training after working and volunteering with rescue groups. After seeing results with their dog, they were encouraged to take the leap and dive into professional trainer courses.
Alex got the learning bug and is a qualified behaviour coach and trainer. She holds a Certificate IV in Animal Training and Behaviour from BKI. Always seeking to improve her practice, she has completed numerous courses and workshops, including the Fear Free Trainer Certification and the Aggression in Dogs Master Course, and continues to upskill and learn from other professionals in the field.
Why choose Dig Dog Training?
I got into dog training with my rescue dog, Slasher. I struggled and was lost with her behaviour, but I made great strides when learning about force-free training and understanding her needs and communication better.
Seeing her thrive and become a resilient pup encouraged me to pursue further education to help others.

I hold a current WWCC, Police Check, Mental Health First Aid and First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011).

My vet recommended Alex to help with my anxious, reactive dog. I was at my wit's end.
After the package, he is now on the road to being more confident, relaxed and resilient. Situations that previously left him a cowering mess are no longer nearly as stressful. He actually will investigate some scary things now and no longer hides from the vacuum cleaner. Interestingly, my other dog, who has always refused to participate in obedience training, started to join in the training games of her own accord. We were then able to work with her as well, teaching her to slow down and listen when exciting things like kangaroos are around.
Alex is friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable. She has a vast array of resources and tools to draw on. The first couple of sessions seemed to be simple, but I trusted the process, did the short exercises each day plus made the minor changes around my house she recommended, and very quickly saw improvements in my dogs.
