Terms and Conditions
Introduction
By enrolling in these workshops, you (referred to as 'the Client', 'you') agree to the following policies, terms and conditions outlined below.
‘The trainers’, ‘us’ we’ refer to Dig Dog Training (ABN: 49 986 807 558) & Canine Hoopers (ABN: 53 553 617 556)
Payment & Refunds
Workshops are to be paid for in full at the time of registration. Registrations sent without payment may not be held if payment is not received within 48 hours.
A full refund minus the $20 handling fee is only available 48 hours before the first class. Clients who request sessions to be rescheduled with less than 48 hours’ notice or "no-shows" forfeit their session.
Weather
Training goes ahead in all safe weather conditions. Training will not go ahead when severe storm warnings have been issued, during thunderstorms, on code red fire danger days, or when temperatures are in excess of 32°C at the time of training. In such cases, the trainers will provide a full refund.
Training methods
The trainers employ force-free training methods and advocate against the use of aversive techniques and tools for all aspects of animal care and training.
As such, we do not allow any aversive training equipment in our training space, including but not limited to choke chains, shock collars or prong collars.
Dogs
Do not bring your dog to class if they appear unwell or are sick. Contact us for a refund.
If your dog becomes sick or injured during class, you must cease training immediately and seek veterinary treatment. Trainers reserve the right to remove you from class and/or seek veterinary treatment on your behalf and at your expense where necessary.
Dogs must always remain on a leash unless otherwise instructed by the trainer.
You must clean up after your dog. Failure to do so may incur a clean-up fee.
Dogs must remain a safe distance apart (as determined by the trainer) at all times unless otherwise instructed by the trainer.
Equipment and handling
You must provide your own suitable, non-damaged training equipment. Dogs must have a harness and or flat collar and a non-retractable lead.
Only one person can handle one dog at any given time. Secondary handlers or family members are welcome to attend training classes.
Handlers of dogs must be wearing closed-toed shoes.
Trainers reserve the right to ask handlers to change their footwear if it is deemed inappropriate. Examples of inappropriate footwear include thongs, open-toed sandals and high-heeled shoes.Children
Children under 15 must have an additional parent/guardian to supervise them during training sessions. i.e., one adult with the dog and a secondary adult with the two young people.
Vaccinations status
Dogs must be up to date with C5 vaccinations.
All dogs must have up-to-date flea and worm-preventative treatments.
Human conduct
We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue training sessions where owners are aggressive, rude, disrespectful, display undue force towards any dog(s) or otherwise display inappropriate behaviour to the instructor, trainer, employees, owners, agents, volunteers, other dog owners, any dogs/other animals or the public.
Welfare
We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue training sessions where there are clear animal welfare concerns including, but not limited to, failure to provide veterinary treatment, cases of neglect, use of undue force or any other violation of relevant legislation. Our trainers reserve the right to report such cases to the appropriate authorities.
COVID-19 Policy
Our trainers are fully vaccinated. The Client agrees to communicate if they are showing symptoms of COVID-19 and take measures, including missing a session or PPE to protect our trainers and community.
Photography and Video Release
Photographs and/or video footage of dogs may occasionally be taken during training and/or other related activities.
You permit any resulting photographs or videos containing images of their dogs to be used for advertising, educational material, or promotional purposes unless otherwise disclosed.
We will not post photos of people under 18 without the guardian’s permission.
Please contact us directly if you would like your photography and video permissions altered.
Disputes and previous agreements
The Client and the Trainer hereby agree to mediate any misunderstanding or dispute arising pursuant to the terms contained herein. This Contract for Training Services supersedes all other agreements, written or oral, between the Client and Dig Dog Training.
Privacy Policy
The Client agrees to the privacy policy.
Liability and Responsibility
The Client acknowledges that training and workshop activities with your dog is an activity that carries inherent risk. You further acknowledge that the dogs may be exposed to various environmental conditions, including but not limited to vehicular travel and interaction with people and other animals, all of which may pose a hazard to you and your dog(s). You understand there may be an activity in which damage or injury to the Client, dog(s), other person/s or animals may occur.
Dig Dog Training and Canine Hoopers accepts no responsibility or liability for any loss, damage, accident, injury or illness to the Client, the dog, other animals, handlers, spectators or any other persons or property whatsoever. We make every effort to ensure the safety of both our clients and dogs during service.
The Client agrees to indemnify Dig Dog Training and Canine Hoopers for all personal injury and damage to your property while participating in a service.
